PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE:  CDBG & HOME PROGRAMS COUNTY OF CUMBERLAND

The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing to present the intended use of funds for the County's Project Year 2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) grants. This is the second public hearing regarding the Cumberland County CDBG and HOME Annual Action Plan. The first public hearing to receive input was held on June 14, 2022. For PY 2022, the US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) awarded Cumberland County $1,251,178 in CDBG funds and $595,520 in HOME funds. The Cumberland County Housing & Redevelopment Authorities anticipates CDBG program income of $10,000. The total funds available for PY 2022 will be $1,856,698. A Public Hearing will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 25, 2022, in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room, 1 Courthouse Square, 2nd Floor, Carlisle, PA, 17013.

Activities planned with these funds will benefit primarily low- and moderate-income persons. The proposed use of funds will be available for a 30-day comment period beginning June 22 and ending on July 22, 2022. Public comments will be evaluated prior to the allocation of CDBG and HOME program funds.

The Plan and Proposed Use of Funds will be available for review at the following locations: Cumberland County Redevelopment Authority, 114 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA; Fredricksen Public Library, 100 N. 19th St., Camp Hill, PA; Shippensburg Public Library, 73 W. King St, Shippensburg, PA. The public may comment on the Plan and proposed use of funds at the hearing, or in writing, or by telephone until July 22, 2022. The Redevelopment Authority will accept written comments addressed to 114 N. Hanover St., PA 17017, until the end of the comment period on July 22, 2022.
