Cumberland County 2021 Annual Action Plan

The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners will hold an in-person and virtual Public Hearing to present the revised budget for the intended use of funds for the County's Program Year (PY) 2021 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) grants. The County anticipates receiving $1,840,261 in grant funds, consisting of $1,305,014 of CDBG funds and $525,247 of HOME funds from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), as well as $10,000 in CDBG Program Income. The public hearing will be held during the Commissioners’ Workshop Meeting, which will convene at 9:00 a.m. on July 22, 2021. The public is invited to participate in these public meetings by attending in-person (2nd Floor Meeting Room, Cumberland County Courthouse, 1 Courthouse Square, Carlisle) or virtually via Zoom (computer-based) or by telephone. Activities planned with these funds will benefit primarily low- and moderate-income persons. No activity will cause the displacement of residents or businesses. Due to errors in the formula allocation of CDBG funds to communities across the nation, HUD has authorized a three-day public comment period, which will begin on July 8, 2021, and end on July 12, 2021. Provisions on how to allocate any additional funds received will be outlined in the Plan. The Commissioners will vote to adopt the budget and send the Annual Action Plan to HUD at their Board Meeting on July 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to participate in these meetings in-person at the same location indicated above or via Zoom and telephone using the instructions above.
