NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING – Public Comment Encouraged on Draft Analysis to Impediments

Public Notice is hereby given that the Cumberland County Housing & Redevelopment Authorities (CCHRA) and the Borough of Carlisle will hold a public meeting to present the draft Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) for Cumberland County and the Borough of Carlisle and is inviting public comment on the draft document.

The process of preparing the AI is part of the fair housing planning required of communities that receive certain funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The AI is intended to identify specific barriers to fair housing and propose recommendations for addressing those barriers.

The public meeting will be held at the date, time, and location as follows:

Time:                   12 Noon – 1 PM

Residents of Cumberland County and Carlisle Borough are invited to comment on the draft AI from January 8, 2025, through February 5, 2025.  A copy of the draft AI will be available for public inspection beginning 8:30 AM on January 8, 2025, through 4:00 PM, February 5, 2025, at the following locations:

  • CCHRA, 114 N. Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA  17013
  • Borough of Carlisle, 53 W. South Street, Carlisle, PA  17013
  • Bosler Memorial Library, 158 W. High Street, Carlisle, PA  17013

The draft AI may also be viewed on the CCHRA website at https://cchra.com/.

A 30-day period affording the public the opportunity to comment on the AI begins Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Written comments will be accepted through Friday, February 7, 2025, at 4:00 PM and all such comments should be addressed to:

Also, CCHRA and the Borough are encouraging the public to participate in the project survey that will be available through Friday, February 7, 2025, at 4:00 PM.  The survey may be accessed online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FJ3385H.

The completed AI is expected to be available to the public by March 3, 2025. The final AI document will be posted on the CCHRA’s website and the posting will be announced to the public through a published public notice. All questions and comments should be directed to Mary Kuna at mkuna@cchra.com.
