PUBLIC NOTICE OF WAITING LIST CLOSURE

The Housing Authority of the County of Cumberland will close its Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Waiting List and all Public Housing Waiting Lists effective September 1, 2025.

This decision was made due to the large number of applications currently on file, some dating back several years, and the significant length of time a new applicant would have to wait to receive assistance. All active applicants who are on the HCV and Public Housing waiting lists as of September 1, 2025, will continue to be processed in accordance with program rules and availability of assistance.

These waiting lists will reopen when the number of applications has been reduced to a manageable level and the anticipated wait time for new applicants is estimated to be less than two years. When the waiting lists are reopened, the Housing Authority will give public notice by posting an announcement on its website and by publishing the relevant information in various media outlets.

Please note:

• The Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Waiting Lists will remain open.
• The One West Penn Senior Housing Waiting List will also remain open.

Applications submitted prior to September 1, 2025, will remain active.
