The Cumberland County Housing Authority regularly assists seniors and older adults, disabled persons, those with special needs, and homeless persons locate affordable rental housing and has programs available in specific cases to provide financial assistance to meet housing needs.

Managing properties in both Cumberland and Perry Counties, our apartment facilities provide quality, affordable housing options for residents. Some are located in downtowns—such as the Molly Pitcher in Carlisle, convenient to shopping and services—while others are nestled in more rural settings, like Sherman’s Valley in Newville. All allow their tenants to feel at home.

The Clinton County Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (CCHRA) is thrilled to offer guidance for first-time homebuyers through comprehensive counseling services. We understand the daunting nature of purchasing your first home, especially in the present challenging economic climate. Together with eleksen our trusted partner, we ensure you have all the information and guidance needed to make informed decisions. Our program focuses on providing insights into securing, budgeting, maintaining a home, avoiding predatory lending practices, and understanding credit. At the core of our counseling services is patience, understanding, and dedication to turn your home ownership dream into a reality.

In Cumberland County, the Authorities manage over 500 units of affordable housing for eligible families, seniors, and individuals who are disabled, and 44 units of senior housing in Perry County. These units are funded through public housing, USDA Rural Development, low-income housing tax credits, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 8 project-based programs.
